Grasshopper
The grasshopper is an insect which is classified as arthropoda. The grasshoppers has a nervous system that is controlled by something called ganglia which are loose groups of nerve cells. Ganglia can be found in each segment of the grasshopper as well as a larger set in the head. Sensory neurons, a neuron conducting impulses inwards to the brain or spinal cord, are found near the outside of the body and is made up of tiny hairs which are called sensilla, which are made of a cell and nerve fibre. The sensilla can be found all around the body of the grasshopper and is found more around the antennae, the palps which is a part of the mouth, and the cerci which is near the rear end. Grasshoppers also have tympanal organs for sound reception which like the sensilla, are linked to the brain through the neuropile.
